Administrative history

The Walkerville Match Company was an early-20th century manufacturer of a variety of parlour and sulphur matches, located in Walkerville, Ontario. The company employed about 225 men, women, and girls at the time of a 1901 fire in its factory, described as an “extensive plant.” A number of the machines used in the factory were invented and patented by president Charles J. Anderson. The company appears to have folded in 1905.
